WAYNE, Neb. – Colorado School of Mines junior outfielder Bobby Egeberg added more postseason laurels to his season résumé when he was named both Second Team All-Region and First Team All-Region Gold Glove by Rawlings and the American Baseball Coaches Association on Wednesday afternoon.

A Goodyear, Ariz., native and First Team All-RMAC selection, Egeberg played in 43 games for the Orediggers with 41 starts to his credit. He posted a .392 batting average - good for eighth in the RMAC. A 2012 First Team National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association All-Region performer as well, Egeberg also tied for second in the conference in triples (five), finished second in stolen bases (17) and finished ninth in slugging percentage (.569). Primarily a leadoff hitter for the Orediggers, Egeberg led the team in home runs (three), total bases (87), runs scored (42), on-base percentage (.569) in addition to leading the team in triples, stolen bases and slugging percentage. 

He ended the season on a 12-game hitting streak, and led the team with 20 multi-hit games during the season. He hit .467 against left-handed pitchers and .387 against righties while also hitting .436 with two outs, .455 with runners in scoring position and .813 with runners on third base and less than two outs. He also hit .715 with the bases loaded .533 as the leadoff batter.

Egeberg earns the Gold Glove honor after he finished his season with a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage on 92 total chances defensively. He used his strong throwing arm to record nine assists, which was the most by any player in the entire Central Region that only played in the outfield.
