'Digger Golf Second At NDNU Invitational

LIVERMORE, Calif. – Led by runner-up honors by freshman Jordan Arndt, the Colorado School of Mines golf team earned a second-place finish on Tuesday at the NDNU Argonaut Invitational held at Poppy Creek Golf Club in Livermore, Calif.

The Orediggers have now finished in the top three at all seven events this season, including six finishes of second or better.

Arndt carded a 74 on the final round to tie him for tops on the individual leaderboard, but the native Canadian lost in the first playoff hole to Kyle Souza of Chico State.

Jim Knous added another top-10 finish to his resume after trimming three strokes off his second round score to shoot an even-par 72 in Tuesday's finale, placing him in ninth overall.

Michael Lee tied for 11th overall after lowering his score for the second-consecutive round with a third-round score of 74.

Kyle Grassel finished his tournament with a 79 on the third 18 to finish 22nd overall and Cory Bacon rounded out the Oredigger golfers in 32nd overall.

Mines will be back in action on April 2 when it hosts the Bob Writz Invitational at the Fox Hollow Golf Course in Lakewood.
