Golf Finishes At No. 17 In Golfstat.com Rankings, Golf World/Nike Coaches' Poll

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – Following a finish in a tie for 11th at the NCAA Championships, the Colorado School of Mines golf squad ended its season at No.17 on the Golfstat.com Head-to-Head computer rankings, up four spots from the previous poll, and also moved into No. 17 in the Golf World/Nike Division II Coaches' Poll after spending the entire season unranked.

The Orediggers ended the season with a total of six team titles, including the 2012 RMAC Spring Championship for the institution's first conference golf title since the 1968 season. 

The Orediggers finished third at the NCAA West/Central Super Regional and made its first-ever appearance in the NCAA Championships, finishing in a tie for 11th overall.

Senior Jim Knous finished second in Golfstat's Division II Player rankings after posting a 10-0 record versus the top-25 players at tournaments during the season. Knous also posted a 24-0 record against players ranked 26-50. He ended his career with wins in three of his final four events, with the fourth and final event being his second-place finish at the NCAA Championships after losing in a one-hole playoff for the individual national title.
