Green Named RMAC/Baden Offensive Player Of The Week

COLORADO SPRINGS – Following a weekend in which he led the team in scoring en route to another 2-0 record in the conference, Colorado Mines junior Brett Green has been named this week's RMAC/Baden Offensive Player of the Week, the conference office announced early Monday afternoon.

Green averaged 18.0 points per game during the two-game stretch, including a 19-point performance on 7-of-8 shooting from the floor in No. 11 CSM's 93-63 victory over Chadron State at Lockridge Arena. On Saturday, he recorded 17 points while adding three rebounds, four assists and four steals while also going 6-for-6 from the foul line.

Green has now scored in double figures in 18 of 19 games this season and has posted 15 or more points on 11 occasions and gone over the 20-point mark six times.

He is currently third in the conference with an average of 16.7 points per game, 12th in the conference in field goal percentage (52.1), first in free throw percentage (89.2), tied for seventh in 3-point percentage (43.2), eighth in 3-point field goals per game (1.8) and second in the conference in minutes played per game (33.9).

He has led the Orediggers (17-2, 13-2 RMAC) to the top of the RMAC standings and the squad has won nine of their last 10 games. The 17-2 start for the Orediggers is the best 19-game start to a season in program history.

This is the second Player of the Week award for Green this season and the third of his career. He won the award earlier this season on Nov. 28 and back on Feb. 8, 2010.

Colorado Mines heads back out on the road this weekend for matchups against Regis on Friday and No. 3 Metro State on Saturday. Friday's matchup at Regis will feature the men's game first, beginning at 5 p.m. with the women's game following after. Saturday's matchup against the third-ranked Roadrunners will begin at approximately 7 p.m. following conclusion of the women's game.
