The #1-ranked Orediggers (11-0-1, 8-0-1 RMAC) will host UC-Colorado Springs on Friday, Oct. 15th at 3:30 pm. Mines will close out the week at home against Adams State on Sunday, Oct. 17th at 2:30 pm.
Akindele scores four times to tie school record as #1 CSM defeats Colorado Christian, 5-0
LAKEWOOD, Colo. – The #1-ranked Colorado School of Mines soccer team posted a 5-0 victory in RMAC men's soccer action against Colorado Christian at the CCU Soccer Field on Wednesday afternoon.

Akindele scored in the fourth minute of the match as Philip Wilson
recorded his fifth of assist of the season to give Mines a 1-0
lead.
Just over a minute and 30 seconds later in the fifth minute of the
match Akindele scored again this time courtesy of a Chike
Sullivan assist.
Wilson added a goal in the ninth minute, his fifth of the
season, as once again Sullivan notched this assist. The assist was
Sullivan's seventh of the season tying him for the RMAC lead in
assists.
Akindele collected the hat trick, this time unassisted, in the
24th minute of the match.
In the 35th minute, Akindele became just the second
player in the history of CSM men's soccer to score four goals in
one match. Alex
Nass tallied the assist his second of the season. The goal was
Akindele's ninth of the season.
Akindele tied the CSM single-game record previously held solely by Mike Dixon who achieved the feat against Johnson &Wales in 2005.
CSM controlled the match tallying 38 shots while holding the
Cougars to just five shots three of which were on goal. Manville
Strand and Ben Thomson split
time in goal to help Mines posted its eighth shutout of the
season.
