Three earn NSCAA All-Central Region honors for men’s soccer

KANSAS CITY, Kan. – A total of three players from the Colorado School of Mines men's soccer team received National Soccer Coaches Association of America All-Central Region honors as announced by the NSCAA. Tesho Akindele and Alex Nass were named to the First Team while Philip Wilson garnered recognition on the Second Team.

Akindele, a sophomore forward from Thornton, Colo. (Northglenn H.S.), was a Daktronics First Team All-American for the second consecutive season. A Daktronics First Team All-Region selection, Akindele finished the season ranked sixth in Division II total points (43), seventh in total assists (11) and ninth in total goals (16). Akindele was also a unanimous First Team All-RMAC pick.

Nass, a junior midfielder from Piracicaba, Sao Paulo, Brazil (Poudre H.S.), was a Daktronics Second Team All-American selection. A Daktronics First Team All-Region and All-RMAC selection in 2011, Nass ranked fourth in the RMAC in assists (tied – 8) and points (tied - 22) and sixth in goals (tied – 7).

Wilson, a senior midfielder from Mansfield, Texas (Mansfield H.S.), earned Daktronics Honorable Mention All-American honors. Wilson scored seven goals (tied for sixth in the RMAC) and tallied five assists earning both Daktronics First Team All-Region and All-RMAC honors in his final season.

The men's soccer team (11-7-1, 8-5-1 RMAC) posted its eighth-straight winning season while making its 12th straight appearance in the RMAC Tournament.
