Hawkins will begin her fourth season overall at Mines in 2012. Hawkins was promoted to Head Coach in July of 2011 after serving as the Interim Head Coach during the 2011 season. Hawkins previously served as an Assistant Coach at CSM during the 2009 and 2010 seasons.
In her first season, Hawkins was named the 2011 RMAC Softball Coach of the Year as she guided the Orediggers to a share of the conference title with a record of 28-11. CSM made its second appearance in program history in the NCAA Tournament earning the fifth seed in the Central Region. Mines finished the season with a record of 36-24 recording the third most wins in a season in CSM softball history. The Orediggers had the top pitching staff (2.14 ERA) and defense (.967) in the RMAC.
During the 2010 season, Hawkins helped guide to the Orediggers to their third consecutive RMAC Tournament appearance. Mines finished second in the East Division and posted a record of 24-26 overall and 18-19 in conference play.
In 2009, CSM made its first appearance in program history in the NCAA Tournament. The Orediggers finished the season with a record of 39-19 overall and 28-8 in RMAC play establishing single-season records for both total victories and conference victories. CSM's outfielders Kaleigh Starr and Margie Cone both earned All-RMAC honors.
A four-year member and three-year starter for the University of Maine softball team, Hawkins earned Second Team All-America East Conference honors during her final season for the Black Bears before graduating in 2007.
Hawkins, who has served as an assistant coach at Thornton Academy High School, has also worked as an instructor and coach for the 18U Frozen Ropes travel team.
Originally from Portland, Maine, Hawkins garnered Honorable Mention All-SMAA accolades at Deering High School. Hawkins, who served as a team captain during the final two years of her prep career, received Deering's Ram Award as a senior.
