Neal and Woodworth earn Daktronics First Team All-Region honors

GOLDEN, Colo. – Colorado School of Mines' Kelsey Neal and Megan Woodworth were both named Daktronics First Team All-Region. Anna Evans and Erin Onat earned Second Team honors.

Twenty-six student-athletes from the Central Region were voted to the All-Region First and Second Team. The two teams consist of four forwards, four midfielders, four defenders and one goalkeeper. Sports Information Directors from each school in the region nominated and voted for the Daktronics All-Region teams.

Neal, a sophomore defender from Los Alamos, N.M. (Los Alamos H.S.), anchors the CSM defense and has scored four goals and tallied one assist this season. A First Team All-RMAC selection, Neal and the Mines defense lead the conference in goals against average (0.77) and shutouts with 10 this season.

Woodworth, a junior midfielder from Centennial, Colo. (Smoky Hill H.S.), has started every game for Mines this season scoring 12 goals and tallying 13 assists. Among players in Division II, Woodworth ranks sixth in total assists (13). A First Team All-RMAC pick for a third straight season, Woodworth currently leads the RMAC in assists and game-winning goals (tied – 4), is second in points (37) and third in goals (tied - 12).

Evans, a sophomore forward from Arvada, Colo. (Arvada West H.S.), was a First Team All-RMAC selection this season. Evans currently ranks third in the RMAC in goals (tied - 12) and fifth in points (29) while tallying five assists.

Onat, a senior midfielder from Littleton, Colo. (Heritage H.S.), earned Second Team All-RMAC honors. Onat has started every game this season for Mines tallying six goals and six assists. Onat notched the game-winner on Sunday in overtime advancing Mines in the NCAA Tournament.

The eighth-ranked Orediggers (16-2-3) host Fort Lewis in the third round of the NCAA Tournament this Friday, November 18th at 1:00 pm for the Central Region Championship.
