Women's cross country squad ranked eighth in the Central Region

GOLDEN, Colo. -- The Colorado School of Mines women's cross country team is ranked eighth in the Central Region in the USTFCCCA's (U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association) most recent NCAA Division II poll released on Tuesday, September 9th.

Last Saturday, September 6th, the CSM women competed in the UC-Colorado Springs Rust-Buster Invitational. As a team, the women finished in a tie for second place. Melanie Peddle paced the squad with a third-place overall finish (15:26). Briana Suppes (16:09) posted a ninth-place finish while Sydney Laws (16:17, 11th) and Marie Patton (16:18, 12th) placed in the top 15.

The CSM men are ranked fourth in the Central Region and eighth nationally in the USTFCCCA's latest rankings.

The Orediggers' next race will be the Woody Greeno Invitational on Saturday, September 20th, in Lincoln, Neb.
